Sheriff’s Office Animal Farm welcomes two armadillos

The Sheriff’s Office Animal Farm welcomed two new members this week!

Say hello to Hank and Cricket! (OK, say hello to Hank. Cricket was being shy when we took this picture.) Both are Nine-banded armadillos, which are the most common armadillos found in North, Central and South America.

Farmer Jeanne Selander reports Hank and Cricket came from a good, legal, home and were once pets. They were donated to the Animal Farm, their new forever home.

Farmer Jeanne reports Hank has been loving his meals at the Animal Farm, while Cricket has been having fun exploring her new habitat.

The Sheriff’s Office Animal Farm is open this Sunday (the second and fourth Sunday each month) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It is free, parking is available and donations are always appreciated!

Come on out and meet Hank and Cricket!
