Scholarship Available for Aspiring Healthcare Professional

A new Edward B. & Joan T. Knight Nursing Scholarship is available for a Key West area resident interested in long-term healthcare care and working with senior citizens.

The scholarship will provide tuition, fees, and books up to $15,000, approximately the full cost of the two year Associate of Science in Nursing program at The College of the Florida Keys.

The successful awardee will work at least 12 hours per week at Poinciana Gardens, a nearly new assisted living facility, at $19 per hour; reside in the Key West or Lower Keys with reliable transportation and be eligible to work in the United States. The scholar may choose to attend school part-time, in which case it will take more than two years to complete the program. For more information, visit cffk.org/nurse.

The Edward B. & Joan T. Knight Nursing Scholarship Program is a collaboration of the College of the Florida Keys, the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, the Key West Housing Authority, the Edward B. and Joan T. Knight Foundation, and the Florida Department of Health – Monroe County. To learn about other Community Foundation scholarships, visit www.cffk.org/scholarships.
