Street Banners Remind Visitors to Stay Safe

Mayor Teri Johnston and Commissioner Clayton Lopez were out this morning to help hang the first of 36 banners reminding visitors to mask up. By the end of today, they should be fully installed all along Duval Street.

Commissioner Lopez did the honors of installing the first banner while suspended in a City bucket truck.

The banners, with artwork from the Tourist Development Council, correspond with other hung the length of US 1 from the mainland.

This is just one of the many ways that our local community is reaching out to our visitors, reminding them to stay safe by wearing a mask and social distancing.
