Big Pine Key man arrested after accosting woman

A 20-year-old man who said he was high on drugs was arrested early Wednesday morning at a Cudjoe Key bus stop after a woman reported he accosted her as she was leaving for work.

Sean Michael Wilson was charged with loitering or prowling.

Deputy Ken Fricke was called to Cudjoe Key in reference to a suspicious person and found a man, later identified as Wilson, matching that description sitting at the bus stop adjacent to the dispatched address. Deputy Fricke introduced himself and Wilson began acting bizarre. Wilson began telling Deputy Fricke stories about sex and death threats to his life. Wilson was having a difficult time formulating complete thoughts and sentences, and often took long pauses between words. Deputy Fricke determined Wilson was likely on drugs. Wilson confirmed he was on drugs.

Deputy Fricke was flagged down by a man at the scene. The man told Deputy Fricke a person he didn’t know, who was identified as Wilson, accosted his wife while she was leaving for work earlier in the morning.

Wilson told Deputy Fricke that the night before he had been doing drugs and having sex with his girlfriend until his girlfriend’s father threw him out of the house and threatened to kill him. Deputy Fricke couldn’t ascertain if this occurred or if it was a hallucination on Wilson’s part. Wilson was not sure as his story changed several times. Wilson told Deputy Fricke he went to the bust stop, because the thought it was safe. Wilson said he saw car lights eventually behind him and went to investigate as he was curious if a crime was occurring.  Wilson told Deputy Fricke he saw a different woman getting out of a car. Wilson told Deputy Fricke he approached that woman.  Deputy Fricke asked Wilson if he knew the woman and Wilson responded that he did not. Deputy Fricke ended the interview at that point as Wilson asked for a lawyer.

Deputy Fricke then talked to the wife of the man who flagged him down. Deputy Fricke spoke to her on the phone. She told Deputy Fricke she got into her car to leave for work, realized she forgot something inside, and got out of the car. Wilson then approached her and told her that she, “needed to give” him a ride or he was going to go to jail. The woman said she tried to move to an area where her residence had security cameras and also tried to hit the panic button on her remote car starter. The woman said Wilson never touched her and that she ran away the first moment she could. She stated she wished to press charges.

Wilson was taken to jail.
