Registration Still Open  Biggest Loser Challenge

The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County has started its third Biggest Loser Challenge in Key West.   Proceeds collected from the challenge will be split among the top three biggest losers in separate male and female categories.  More male participants are needed**.    The challenge began on Tuesday, January 19 and will conclude on March 15.  Registration is still open.  Last day to join is February 2.  Participants of the challenge are required to weigh-in every Tuesday morning for eight weeks at the Gato Building in Key West.  For more information and to register, call (305) 809-5606 or email [email protected].

 There are currently 27 contestants and only five are male.  There will be six winners in total–  the top three winners in the male category and the top three winners in the female category. The top three winners between the male and female participants are those who lose the largest percentage of body weight in each category.   The proceeds collected in the male and female categories will be collected  separately and  the respective proceeds will be awarded to the top three losers in each category.  For example, proceeds  collected from the male category will be split as follows: 1st place = 50%; 2nd place = 30%; 3rd place = 20% among the males participants.  Proceeds collected from the female category will be split as follows: 1st place = 50%; 2nd place = 30%; 3rd place = 20% among the female participants.
