Youth Ocean Conservation Summit – Organized by Mote Marine Laboratory

SUMMERLAND KEY, Florida Keys –  Mote Marine Laboratory would like to present its inaugural Youth Ocean Conservation Summit (YOCS) in the Florida Keys, on April 27th 2019, at Marathon Middle High School.

The YOCS is organized by students, for students!  It was created to give Middle and High School students in Monroe County the opportunity to learn from marine scientists, conservationists, and their peers about current threats facing marine ecosystems. The Summit will feature exciting speakers from local organizations, hands on workshops, and guidance from mentors to help build the skills and knowledge needed in order to successfully develop and implement their own ocean conservation projects and make a difference in their community.

All Monroe County high school and middle school students are cordially invited to attend. To register for the event go to mote.org/RAPS. Students who attend will leave the event with profound new knowledge about environmental issues as well as having formulated their own plan of action to aid in ocean conservation.
