Woman arrested for trafficking methamphetamine

A 47-year-old Key West woman was arrested Wednesday after four ounces of methamphetamine were found in her vehicle.

Amanda Lyn Tufenkjian was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy John Allen conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 1 near Mile Marker 6 at approximately 12:53 p.m.

K9 Coral responded to the scene.

A search of the Jeep Tufenkjian was driving turned up four ounces of methamphetamine, multiple Xanax pills, a digital scale, plastic baggies, multiple pipes and assorted other drug paraphernalia.

Tufenkjian was taken to jail.
