Why is this company angling to make cursive cool again?

As it stands now there are 20 states that have passed or are actively working on legislation to make cursive mandatory for schools to teach.

Add to that the fact that handheld technology and keyboards are taking over these days and it is no wonder many kids have not perfected the art of cursive writing.

So one group of creative folks is looking to change that with a new educational, flash card game called Cool Cursive.

** If you are looking for a timely newspeg: January 23rd is National Celebrate Handwriting Day.

The idea behind Cool Cursive is to simply teach children how to fluently identify the cursive letters – all by playing a fun card game.

Cursive handwriting has been proven to stimulate brain synapses and synchronicity between the left and right hemispheres. Research has shown that one retains learning better when taking notes manually.

Cool Cursive actually started out when its creators were making a game to teach an ancient Jewish script called Rashi – named after a sage in medieval Jewish France.

After seeing how successful the concept was in teaching children, the company adapted the same concept to a game that would appeal to a general audience…like cursive.

Can we get you photos, a sample, arrange an interview or help in any way further to make your job as easy as possible?

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
