PLANTATION KEY, FL — In a recent case, the Monroe County State Attorney’s Office announced that Alexander Michael Sardinas, 40, has been sentenced to 22.65 months in the Florida Department of Corrections after being found in violation of his probation. The sentence was imposed by Circuit Judge James Morgan.
Sardinas was originally sentenced on August 7, 2023, and placed on probation following a conviction for False Imprisonment.
While on supervision, Sardinas accumulated numerous violations of his probation, including threats toward a retired judge, as well as repeated noncompliance with standard probation conditions such as maintaining lawful behavior, employment, and financial obligations.
His latest violation was in early February 2026, when he engaged in the sale of a controlled substance during an undercover operation conducted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Based on his latest violation and his history, the Court revoked Sardinas’ probation and imposed a state prison sentence of 22.65 months.
Chief Assistant State Attorney Joseph Mansfield stated, “This defendant continued to engage in criminal activity while on probation, including the sale of illegal drugs, and had already demonstrated an ongoing pattern of violations and noncompliance. That conduct shows a complete disregard for the law and for the conditions imposed by the Court. When probation is treated this way, a prison sentence is the appropriate and necessary response.”
The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Trey Evans.
