NEW RULES

Dear Short Answers:
Now that my husband and I are staying at home and not seeing any other people, he has decided that personal hygiene is irrelevant. I have tried to convince him that good hygiene makes you happy but he doesn’t buy it. How do I convince him that his disgusting appearance makes me UNHAPPY and that he should care about that?
I’m Serious

Dear Serious:
Well, we assume you have already tried asking him without insulting him, which would be our first choice. Second is to hope he’ll get over whatever he is trying to communicate, sooner rather than later.

WHO? WHAT? WHEN? WHERE?
Dear Short Answers:
I have been with the same woman for 18 years. In our 17th year we decided to get married. Now in our 18th, we are experiencing all types of trust issues. Now this is a same sex marriage and we, at this moment, don’t live together because of my lease situation (four months left). She lived here with me for awhile but has since moved back into her townhouse which by the way an ex lives in with her. What should I do about this?
Newlywed

Dear Newly:
Perhaps you each have different expectations about marriage — it’s high time that you talk about it. Do you expect to live together? Be faithful? Make joint financial decisions? Don’t postpone this discussion.

COYOTE UGLY

Dear Short Answers:
I am just getting serious with my new boyfriend, who is very cute in a boyish kind of way.  My problem is that I don’t think he has the kinds of looks that last. His father and other male relatives are VERY unattractive and I can see the same features in my boyfriend. I don’t want an ugly husband. How do I get over this?
Pretty Girl

Dear Pretty:
Wow. We thought it was just (bad) guys who thought this way. But, okay, no judgment. How to get over it?  Look at your man and decide if you love him.  Simple.

MANAGING FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Dear Short Answers:
I’ve recently started looking for jobs again and am hoping for some interviews soon. My question is that I have several visible tattoos, one on my forearm and on each of my ankles. I’m not willing to work somewhere that would make me cover them up daily, but also want to make a good first impression at my interviews. Should I cover them up or not? Thanks
Love My Tattoos

Dear Love:
We think you have the right idea. Cover up until you land the job. When they love you, they will love your tattoos, too!

TOLL ROADS

Dear Short Answers:
I’m a 56 year old gay man.  What’s the youngest boyfriend I can get before people start talking about it behind my back?
Looking Around

Dear Looking:
We think 10 years is the legal limit unless you are casting for a son.
