Sanctuary offers marine debris removal training

As part of the Goal: Clean Seas Florida Keys initiative, Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary is offering training to dive shop operators for underwater marine debris removal. Training provides guidance on conducting marine debris removals without damaging protected resources and includes an explanation of the permitting process. Permits are required in some sanctuary protected areas and to remove lobster trap debris. To be permitted by the sanctuary, at least one staff member from an organization must attend training.
