Rescue Tails / Hannah
Contributed by FKSPCA Staff
Imagine our surprise when directly across the street from our Marathon Campus there was a banana box taped shut with blue painters tape with a kitten inside. Yes, just last week a four month old black and white kitten was dumped in a box on the corner of a busy street just across the street from the shelter. Luckily the tape raised suspicion and we were called out to investigate the strange box. Since it was just feet away we were able to respond immediately and free the 4 month kitten. She was brought into the shelter and examined, and with the exception of being terribly frightened, she was otherwise a healthy little cat.
Not only was she healthy, but she was especially sweet. Perhaps it was her gratitude for being rescued, or perhaps it was just her demeanor but Hannah is exceptionally affectionate. From the moment she got comfortable she has continued to “make biscuits” (a term for making a kneading-like motion with their front paws). She makes biscuits when she’s playing, when she’s in her house, even when you hold her. Her loving personality is truly a testimony to the resilience and forgiving nature of animals.
