No Foolin’ – Nancy 3. Hoffman in Concert
International songstress Nancy 3. Hoffman will present a concert on Monday, April 2nd with pianist/singer Michael Robinson. Known for her humor and originality, Ms. Three is premiering her own musical theater mash-up: Fiddler on the Roof meets The Sound of Music. What do Tevye and Maria have in common? “I kept thinking about the similarities of the two shows . . . the main character has to meet challenges of family, politics, and inner doubt,” explains Hoffman. “Tradition, Matchmaker and If I Were a Rich Man are intermingled with The Hills are Alive, Doe a Deer and Climb Ev’ry Mountain in new and surprising ways. And Michael is the perfect co-conspirator for this.”
Michael Robinson is well known locally for his wide-ranging musical talents as arranger, vocalist and pianist in sold-out cabaret performances with Eric Haley and Mike Mulligan. Robinson’s career includes creating arrangements for shows for the Disney Corporation and for numerous a cappella groups.  Now living in the Keys, Robinson says, “I wanted to do this show because I am most interested in supporting local singers and musicians. With Nancy 3. I knew it would be fun!”
Songs about April, and songs about fools are also being featured on this day after April Fools’ Day. Ms. Hoffman will break out her accordion for a selection of international song favorites as well. No Foolin’!
The cabaret is at 7:00 p.m. April 2nd at One Island Family, 801 Georgia Street at Petronia. $20 suggested donation at the door. For further information contact [email protected] or 207-939-0301.
