NAS Key West to close ahead of Eta
NAS KEY WEST, Fla. (November 8, 2020) – Naval Air Station Key West has directed all departments and tenant commands to set Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) One ahead of Tropical Storm Eta.
Commanding Officer Capt. Mark Sohaney has also directed all air station gates to be closed at 10 p.m. Sunday. Gates will be closed to all traffic with the exception of emergency vehicles.
As of Sunday, Nov. 8, all visiting aircraft squadrons have left NAS Key West and all Key West-based aircraft are sheltered in place.
TCCOR 1 indicates destructive force winds are imminent within 12 hours and personnel should shelter in their homes.
