Motorist arrested for possessing drugs/handgun

A 52-year-old West Palm Beach man was arrested Friday for possessing cocaine and other drugs as well as a handgun.

David Coriaty was charged with possession of cocaine, amphetamines, Ecstasy and Nandrolone decanoate (steroids) as well as possession of a weapon in commission of a felony.

Deputy Taylor Blanton spotted the suspect Mercedes convertible near Mile Marker 51 at approximately 10 a.m. after receiving a be-on-the-lookout alert regarding a road rage incident involving a firearm. A caller advised a Mercedes was speeding, passing in no passing zones and its driver displayed a chrome revolver.

Coriaty was the driver. A female passenger was not charged. The car smelled of marijuana.

Coriaty stated there was a firearm behind the passenger seat. A revolver matching the caller’s description was found.

Also found in the car:

  • 7.1 grams of cocaine
  • .5 grams of amphetamines
  • 4.2 grams of Ecstasy in the form of stamped tablets
  • .4 grams of marijuana
  • 300 mg bottle of Nandrolone decanoate (steroids)

Coriaty was taken to jail.
