MIKE WILEY: Actor, Historian and Uniter
By Roger C. Kostmayer
Two of the best evenings ever in Key West were sponsored by The Studios of Key West and American Legion Post 168 on 803 Emma Street. Mr. Wiley had the audiences in the palm of his hand. Everyone felt the painful facts of our history, but they laughed uproariously as he (and the audience) played Emmett Till on April 17th and Jackie Robinson on April 18th.
Both performances attracted full houses. The diverse audiences felt like a single family and responded like a united community.
Hopefully, there will be more such gatherings that entertain, educate and reinforce our commitment to our One Human Family.
