Mayor Reconvenes Beautification Committee
Please join Mayor Teri Johnston as we reconvene the Mayor’s Beautification Committee on Wednesday, February 23rd at 1:00 in the City Commission Chambers at 1300 White Street. Beautification of our community was one of the City’s top six Strategic Objectives identified by our residents this past year.
Prior to Covid, the volunteers serving on the Beautification Committee along with Community Services and Waste Management restored Pocket Parks, repainted street signs, removed graffiti and stickers, repainted seating at Mallory Square, restored grave sites and planted trees at our historic cemetery, added cigarette butt receptacles and reduced the number of coupon stands on Duval Street.
“This year we will be coordinating our efforts with the newly created “Adopt a Spot Program” to keep our community clean,” said Mayor Johnston. “It takes a village. Hope to see you on the 23rd!”
