Man arrested for sexually abusing child

A 74-year-old Marathon man was arrested Wednesday for sexual child abuse.

Jose Napoles was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation.

The case was reported to the Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 26, 2021.

The Major Crimes Unit began investigating after the victim stated Napoles made her touch him inappropriately over the course of several years on multiple occasions beginning when she was 5-years-old.

Detectives continued to investigate and a warrant was subsequently issued for Napoles arrest.

Napoles was booked into jail on Wednesday.

Reckless driver arrested for DUI

A 51-year-old Jupiter, Florida man who was driving recklessly Wednesday morning was arrested after telling Deputies he was high on drugs.

Theodore John Evans was charged with DUI.

Lt. David Smith stopped Evans near Mile Marker 19 on U.S. 1 at approximately 10:45 a.m. after multiple callers reported a Toyota RAV4 was running red lights, passing in no-passing zones and not staying in its lane.

Evans’ eyes were bloodshot and watery. He behaved erratically, speaking quickly and nonsensically about how high and happy he was due to his use of a vape pen.

Evans failed field sobriety exercises.

Marijuana candies, a glass pipe and a vape pen were found in the RAV4.

Evans was taken to jail.
