Man with knife arrested for battery  

A 36-year-old Key West man was arrested Tuesday morning after he threatened and chased his construction supervisor with a knife at the job site.

Anton Everald Dyer was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

There were no reported injuries.

Deputy Desliles Mompoint was called to the 3200 block of the Overseas Highway in Marathon at 8:39 a.m. regarding an assault. He arrived to find the 36-year-old victim who is also the site supervisor. The victim said Dyer arrived to work intoxicated and complained that everyone else at the job site only spoke Spanish. The victim told Dyer to go home for the day.

The supervisor/victim stated Dyer became upset, produced a black knife and chased him. The victim stated he continued to run until he picked up a metal pipe to defend himself. Several witnesses corroborated the victim’s story.

Dyer was taken to jail.
