Man in stolen pickup truck arrested

A 35-year-old homeless man was arrested Wednesday after he was stopped in a truck reported stolen out of Washington County, Tennessee.

Lloyd Mills Matthews was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, larceny and driving on a suspended license.

Upper Keys Deputies received a be-on-the-lookout for a southbound black, 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on U.S. 1 with a stolen North Carolina license plate.

The truck was spotted and stopped at the Burger King restaurant on the 99000 block of the highway. Matthews was identified as the driver. Matthews stated his driver’s license was suspended.

A check of the license plate on the truck revealed it was reported stolen by the Asheville, North Carolina Police Department.

Matthews was taken to jail.
