Man arrested for ID theft/grand theft

A 26-year-old Miami man was arrested Monday for attempting to use another person’s information to purchase two iPhones and an Apple watch at a Marathon store.

Robert Savion Hall was charged with using/possessing another person’s ID without their consent, possession of counterfeit driver’s license or ID cards and grand theft.

Deputy Vincent Torres responded to the Verizon store, 5800 Overseas Highway, regarding a fraud matter. An employee there pointed to Hall and stated Hall attempted to purchase two iPhones and an Apple watch on another person’s account that had been flagged in the computer system due to fraudulent activity.

Hall stated he was in need of money and that a friend provided him with a fake Georgia ID. Hall stated his friend told him to use that ID to purchase the phones and watch, which they could later sell.

A search of Hall turned up the following cards or IDs and none of them had Hall’s name:

  • One Georgia driver’s license
  • One Illinois driver’s license
  • One Walmart Visa debit card
  • One Green Dot Visa debit card
  • One Chase Sapphire Visa

Hall was taken to jail.
