Letter to the Editor / THE PLIGHT OF CHILDREN: No Transparency, No Plan
Roger C. Kostmayer
After doubling down and disseminating disinformation (“Only Congress can fix this”), Donald Trump signed an Executive Order that he says will end separating immigrant children from their families. Sadly, this chaotic administration has no plan to actually protect and reunite the 2300 recently detained children, some of whom are infants; nor the over 10,000 immigrant children already in government custody.
At least two things make these desperate events even worse. The US government has refused to be open, honest or transparent with the American people, for whom it is supposed to work. Neither local or federal elected officials nor the media, both charged with serving the public, are being allowed to know where all the children are, to see the children, or to inspect the conditions under which they’re held.
Secondly, it’s now clear the Executive Order may not even stop the forced separation of families, and may not lead to reuniting those families that have already been ripped apart.
The American people, and the world community, find this cruel and inhumane situation unacceptable. We must do better.

Oh, the children…
Not a word spoken about child trafficking nor the law of the land that perpetuates the scenario.
To some, the issue is worth milking for whatever it’s worth.
The fact that no viable solutions are provided speaks loads of the likes of this leftist propagandist.
Funny, until President Trump brought this to the forefront with border control issues, no one ever mentioned
‘the children’…
Let alone this program, which Setorro, 2) Bushs’ and Clinton all contributed to the children being put in the confines but with no interest in the welfare of ‘the children’…

Just think: if there was a wall, there would not be a need of separating “mothers from children”.
The world would love us, we all could hold hands and sing “Kumbaya”. Oh happy day!
