Letter to the Editor / Official Tree Designation

The dispute between the City Tree Commission and Karen DeMaria about which tree should be the Official Key West tree,

reminded me of the war long time ago, about which  end of an egg should be cut…..the bottom or the top.

Do the City Commissioners and the citizens of Key West have nothing better to do than to squabble about which tree (native or non-native)

should be the Official Tree? They should spend the time solving the myriad of problems of the city: affordable housing, parking problems, hurricane protection, etc.
