Knife-wielding man arrested

A 30-year-old Boca Raton, Florida man was arrested Wednesday after striking an occupied vehicle multiple times with a knife.

Tyler Anthony Ploof was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and damaging property.

The 33-year-old female victim and her two young children were sitting inside a vehicle parked at the St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church parking lot in Key Largo at approximately 5 p.m. when an unknown man, later identified as Ploof, pulled up in a black Jeep, got out and began to stab the victims’ passenger door with a fish filet knife for an unknown reason, causing approximately $1,500 in damages. There were no reported injuries. Witnesses also reported the incident.

The victim asked Ploof why did this as he was leaving the scene and he stated, “I don’t belong here.” Ploof was stopped in the Jeep on U.S. 1 shortly thereafter and taken to jail without incident.
