Jesse’s amazing 50+ year career began in the mid-Sixties when he established his prolific singing/songwriting/recording skills as a member of New York City’s growing folk scene.
His first taste of success came when he helped found the dynamic 1960s folk/rock band, The Youngbloods, whose timeless classic single, Get Together, featuring Jesse’s distinctive lead vocal, became a Top 5 chart hit, sold over a million copies and is still played on radio and used in films & TV shows today.
The Youngbloods split up in 1972 after releasing six well-received studio albums and several live albums and, since then, Jesse has gone on to a lengthy, successful solo career. He’s released 15 critically acclaimed albums since then, while touring worldwide to an ever-growing fan base.
His fourth solo album, Song for Juli, released in 1973, produced four singles and remained on the Billboard Top 200chart for several months.
At one point, Jesse and his family moved to Hawaii where he started his own coffee plantation; a business that has grown to be very successful over the years. His Morning Sun coffee line does a very brisk business online, at retail and via mail order. He even sells it at his concerts.
