Health Department Seeks Input from Stock Island Community

Selena Quintanilla, who works on Stock Island, is excited to receive the $5 food gift certificate as a reward for completing the Stock Island Community Health Survey for DOH-Monroe.

[Monroe County, Fla.] — The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County (DOH-Monroe) is conducting a community health survey for residents and employees of Stock Island.  The survey will help DOH-Monroe better understand the needs of the Stock Island community as it relates to healthy living and the local environment. DOH-Monroe has set a goal for 700 completed surveys by June 30, 2022.

“The Stock Island Community Health Survey is an important project for DOH-Monroe,” said Jennifer Lefelar, Community Health Planner for the department.  “Data from this survey will help DOH-Monroe, in partnership with the Stock Island Community, set priorities and seek additional resources to help this part of the Florida Keys.  If you live or work on Stock Island, please take five minutes to complete this survey and provide your feedback about health, transportation, and the community environment.”

The survey is anonymous and available in English, Spanish and Haitian creole.  If you live or work on Stock Island, and are at least 14 years of age, please take the survey today at www.tinyurl.com/healthstockisland.

“Anyone who completes the survey by the deadline of June 30 will have the option to include their name and address at the end of the survey to receive a $5 food gift card in the mail from DOH-Monroe as a reward for taking the survey,” said Lefelar.  “The $5 food gift cards can be used at major grocery store chains (including Publix and Winn-Dixie) that honor manufacturer coupons.”

Results of the Stock Island Community Health Survey will be published later this year.
