Health Department Offers Travel Vaccines

Monroe County, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County (DOH-Monroe) is now offering vaccines for individuals with plans to travel abroad.  The type of travel vaccines varies depending on which region of the world the traveler will visit.  For this reason, it is important to plan ahead and make an appointment as soon as possible once travel plans are made.

To make an appointment for travel-related vaccines, call 305-293-7500 at least one month before departure.  You will be asked to provide information on the country or countries you plan to visit and the planned departure date.  The department accepts many forms of health insurance, though not all travel-related vaccines are covered.  For individuals who must pay out-of-pocket, please note that the department provides vaccines at their cost with no markup.
