Health Department Appoints Balbi to Immunizations Program Manager

Nadine Balbi, BSN, RN, Immunizations Program Manager, DOH-Monroe County.

(Monroe County, Fla) – The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County (DOH-Monroe) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nadine Balbi, BSN, RN to Immunizations Program Manager.

In her role as Immunizations Program Manager Nadine oversees the day-to-day operations associated to administering vaccines to children and adults throughout Monroe County and maintaining required immunizations records in the statewide Florida SHOTS portal.

DOH-Monroe offers a wide range of vaccines at each of its 3 clinic locations in Key West, Marathon & Tavernier.  Most vaccines are available to the public at no charge and many call be billed through health insurance and Medicaid, which includes the federally funded Vaccines For Children program.

“We are so pleased to have Nadine taking the lead to maximize our immunization efforts to prevent disease and illness here in Monroe County,” said DOH-Monroe Administrator and Health Officer Dr. Carla Fry, PhD, MSN, RN.  “Nadine’s nursing and administrative experiences make her a perfect fit for this important role for our health department.”

Balbi joined DOH-Monroe in January of 2022.  She graduated from The College of the Florida Keys with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently pursuing her MSN.  Prior to working at the health department Nadine worked in pediatrics for several years.

Balbi’s first day working in her new role was April 28, 2023.
