GABRIELA HENRI OF CODE COMPLIANCE NAMED MONROE COUNTY’S EMPLOYEE OF THE SECOND QUARTER

MARATHON, FL – Gabriela Henri, an administrative assistant in code compliance, was named Monroe County’s 2020 Employee of the Second Quarter for her positive impact on fellow staff members and performance that exceeds normal job expectations. She was presented the award virtually during Wednesday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting. She started working for Monroe County in 2018.

For her code compliance position, she has taken the added responsibility of assisting the liaison to the Special Magistrate at code hearings. “From her first day on the job, she has strived for excellence in her daily work and developed protocols to assist in the department becoming more efficient,” said Cynthia McPherson, Director of Code Compliance.

In March, April, and May, Henri stepped out of her code compliance position and assisted the Public Information Office with several tasks, including taking the lead position in answering hotline phone calls, where she averaged 50 or more calls per day. “She was especially calm and empathetic to the callers, some of whom at times were very hostile, upset, or frustrated,” said Kristen Livengood, Monroe County Public Information Officer, who nominated her for the award.
