First State Bank Congratulates Murrell on Promotion to SVP

First State Bank of the Florida Keys congratulates Robert Murrell on his promotion to Senior Vice President, Senior Loan Administration Officer.

A key player in the First State Bank lending department for almost two decades, Murrell joined First State Bank as Commercial Loan Officer, working with business customers in the Bank’s Main Office in Key West, before being promoted to Vice President of Middle and Upper Keys lending.  In 2007, he joined the Loan Administration team overseeing special projects and spearheading the creation of the Special Assets and Real Estate Owned departments.  His leadership in Residential Lending, Consumer Lending, Quality Control, and Portfolio Management lead to his current role of Senior Vice President/Senior Loan Administration Officer.

“Robert’s extensive knowledge of credit and lending have made him integral in helping move the Bank forward with automation and new product lines that create a better experience for our customers and keep our Bank relevant and competitive,” said Gary Carney, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer.  “His keen attention to detail and perfect balance of customer advocacy and bank safety make him an invaluable part of our Loan Administration team.”

Murrell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Southeast Missouri State University.
