Directive 2020-14 Addresses Sightseeing Vehicles

Now that Monroe County is welcoming back visitors under strict CDC guidelines, the City of Key West has issued Directive 2020-14 that addresses sightseeing vehicles.

Since Governor Ron DeSantis declared a State of Emergency on March 9th, the State, County and City have issued directives to respond as the situation changed with the spread of COVID-19. This new directive spells out the requirements for sightseeing vehicles within the city limits.

The sightseeing vehicles are required to limit capacity to the greatest extent possible. Measures may include closing every other row, or marking floors and seats to allow social distancing. The vehicles will be required to provide hand sanitizer for passengers and for drivers when they board or disembark the vehicle. As with other directives, these businesses will also be required to remove all unnecessary paper products and décor that might be touched frequently, and must follow CDC guidelines for sanitizing surface areas.

The directive, in its entirety, can be viewed on the City’s website at www.cityofkeywest-fl.gov.
