Broadway Backwards to Benefit KWHS Drama Club

On April 4th at the Key West Theater, favorite Key West performers sing Broadway songs originally written for the opposite gender in “Broadway Backwards” to benefit the Key West High School Drama Club’s upcoming musical.

Juliet Gray, Abigail Houff, Victoria Martin, Chad Newman, Laura Richardson, Adam Sweitzer, and Alexandra Zeto are just a few of the performers who will prove gender doesn’t matter, but love does as they explore and embrace the great songs of musical theater with a twist: the men sing songs intended for women and vice versa without changing pronouns. The one-night-only event will feature songs from a wide variety of beloved musicals including “Hamilton,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Kinky Boots,” My Fair Lady,” and “Rent,” to name a few. All proceeds from “Broadway Backwards” will benefit the Key West High School Drama Club & Key West Theater production of “Legally Blonde, Jr,” this coming May.

“Broadway Backwards,” at the Key West Theater, 512 Eaton Street on April 4th at 7pm is sponsored by Gilded Peach and Salt Island Provisions. For tickets, call (305) 985-0433 or visit www.thekeywesttheater.com.
