Harrison Recognized for 20 Years of Service

City Manager Jim Scholl, during this week’s City Commission meeting, presented Deputy City Clerk Sue Harrison with a gold watch in honor of her 20 years of service with the City.

Harrison started with the City in 1998 as an administrative assistant to former City Clerk Josephine Parker. She was promoted to Deputy City Clerk in 2000. Seven years later she was named Senior Deputy Clerk. In 2005 she was awarded Employee of the Quarter by the Key West Chamber of Commerce. In 2010 she received the Certified Municipal Clerks designation from the Florida Association of City Clerks. She has been a tireless volunteer in many City ceremonies, and has been a dedicated volunteer for the Holiday Parade for 18 years.

“We are honored to have an employee of your caliber,” said Scholl as he presented Harrison with a traditional gold watch and with a City challenge coin denoting her 20 years of service.

Calling her work “a dream come true,” Harrison said “each day has provided experiences and surprises that I could not have had anywhere else.”
