Zonta Key West Hosts Successful Virtual Run to Support Local Women’s Health Initiatives

(Key West, Fla.) — On Saturday, October 31^st, Zonta Club of Key West and its supporters celebrated the 28^th Annual ABC 5K/10K Run/Walk. This year’s first ever virtual run had participants from around the country. We’re looking forward to continuing this event, in whatever venue necessary, to support Women’s Health, including breast cancer screenings.

Despite the pandemic, Zonta, with the assistance of Platinum Sponsor, Marino Construction Group, Inc., and many other generous sponsors including the Keys Open Doors Foundation, Margaritaville Key West Resort & Marina, Old Town Dental, Shirley Freeman, Barack Pensions, Raymond James, Emullion, BB&T Bank (now Truist), Casa Marina Resort, and Southernmost Hotel Collection, had a beneficial fundraising year. Additionally, Marino Construction and Womankind had large groups of racers participate in the event on October 31^st.

The annual ABC event enables the Zonta Club of Key West to continue sponsoring, along with Womankind and Lower Keys Medical Center, much needed women’s healthcare in the Lower Keys. These services are provided to underinsured and uninsured women in our community.
