Woman jumps from second floor in drug-related incident

A 35-year-old woman was arrested Thursday night after jumping from a second floor home in an effort to evade deputies who caught her shortly thereafter.

Tracy Marie Curley was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Sgt. Paul Bean responded to the 30 block of Dolphin Road on Key Largo at 8 p.m. where he found a man who told him a woman there was having a “crack-oriented emergency” and was causing a disturbance. Deputy Tommy Durham also responded. When the two were attempting to enter the house, the male caller stated the woman, later identified as Curley, had jumped off the second floor and was attempting to flee. Sgt. Bean saw Curley running down the street and ordered her to stop. Curley did not stop. Eventually, she was caught. She attempted to pull away from Sgt. Bean. She was yelling expletives and tried to head-butt Sgt. Bean in the face. She began kicking the inside of Sgt. Bean’s patrol car.

Neither she nor deputies suffered any serious injuries.

Sgt. Bean then spoke to the male caller who stated that he has been trying to get Curley to drug rehab, but she had grown increasingly violent in recent days.

Curley was taken to jail.
