PLANTATION KEY, FL — In a recent case, the Monroe County State Attorney’s Office announced that Dachel Orlando Hernandez Pola, 43, has been adjudicated following a plea of guilty to Grand Theft over $10,000. Circuit Court Judge James Morgan sentenced Hernandez Pola to 60 months of probation, with early termination upon full payment of restitution, along with 45 hours of community service. He was ordered to pay a total of $983.00 in fines and court costs, as well as $14,128.00 in restitution to multiple victims.
The charges stem from a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a burglary at a construction site in the Upper Keys that occurred overnight between September 6 and September 7, 2023. During the incident, Hernandez Pola unlawfully entered the site and stole a significant amount of tools and construction equipment belonging to multiple victims. The theft resulted in substantial financial losses and disrupted the victims’ ability to work.
Chief Assistant State Attorney Joseph Mansfield stated, “This sentence ensures the victims have a real path to being repaid for what was taken from them. If the defendant fails to meet those obligations, he will face significant time in state prison. Taking the tools people depend on to make a living will not be excused, and those who choose to do so will be held fully accountable.”
The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Trey Evans.
