Upper Keys burglar nabbed after tip

A 19-year-old man wanted for burglarizing a Key Largo business in December was arrested Thursday after the Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip.

Timberelen Terrell of Key Largo was charged with burglary of a structure, burglary of a vehicle, criminal mischief causing more than $200 in damage and petty theft.

The Sheriff’s Office released surveillance camera footage of the Dec. 26 break-in at the GG Millworks on Atlantic Drive after the owner found items missing from inside as well as a truck window and power washer broken. Sheriff’s Office Detective Lance Hernandez received a tip that Terrell was a suspect. Terrell was in jail on an unrelated marijuana charge from January. During an interview at the jail, Detective Hernandez noticed a unique tattoo on Terrell that matched the one on the man seen in the security footage.

A warrant was issued and Terrell was charged in the burglary incident Thursday while already in jail on the marijuana arrest.
