Two women arrested on drug charges

A 30-year-old Miami woman and a 26-year-old Key West woman were arrested Saturday night on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop on Stock Island.

Marissa Curry of Miami and Selestria De La Cruz of Key West were both charged with trafficking in methamphetamines and possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana.

Curry had two additional warrants for her arrest and was further charged with possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamines with intent to sell.

Deputy Ty Torres stopped a Kia car on U.S. 1 at 11 p.m. after it failed to stop at a stop sign on 5th Street. De La Cruz was the driver and Curry was the passenger. It was soon discovered Curry had two warrants for her arrest.

The following were found in the car after a search:

  • 1.3 ounces of methamphetamine
  • Nearly 8 ounces of marijuana
  • A scale
  • A notebook that appeared to show drug transaction information
  • $753 in cash

A gram of cocaine was also found in Curry’s possession on her person.

Both women were taken to jail.
