Two cited in for illegal snappers 

Two Miami-Dade County men were given mandatory notice to appear in court citations Wednesday morning for possessing illegally harvested mangrove snapper.

Randy Acosta-Fuentes, 29, of Hialeah, and Armando Nunez-Fernandez, 26, of Miami, were both cited for possession of four undersized mangrove snapper, possession of over-the-limit mangrove snapper and fishing without a valid license.

Sgt. James Hager was conducting marine resource checks at the north end of the Card Sound Bridge in Upper Key Largo at approximately 7:30 a.m. when he found 13 mangrove snapper in the mens’ possession. Both men admitted to catching the fish.
