Two arrested on drug charges following traffic stop

Two Big Pine Key residents were arrested Friday afternoon for crack cocaine possession following a traffic stop on U.S. 1.

Gregory John D’Innocenzo, 51, and Melissa Lyn Bach, 52, were both charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell. Bach was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Traffic Enforcement Unit Deputy Aaron Roddy observed Bach texting while driving on U.S. 1 near 63rd Street in Marathon at approximately 3:41 p.m. The Toyota van she was driving was on the center line. Deputy Roddy observed the van almost strike another vehicle. Deputy Roddy stopped the van at Mile Marker 57.

Deputy Roddy saw a pipe fall from Bach’s shorts to her feet. Bach and passenger D’Innocenzo gave conflicting stories as to where they had been and where they were going.

Deputy Roddy retrieved K9 Mako and K9 Mako alerted to drugs in the van.

A total of 12.49 grams of crack cocaine was found in three separate packages.

Both Bach and D’Innocenzo were taken to jail.
