Two arrested on drug charges

A man and woman were arrested on drug charges Friday following a traffic stop in Marathon.

  • Daniel Dominguez, 41, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, was charged with trafficking approximately 12 ounces of amphetamine, possession of ammunition — a 9mm bullet — by a convicted felon, and possession of 11.5 grams of marijuana.
  • Marisa Christina Carbonell, 34, of Key West, Florida, was charged with violation of probation.

The Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle near the 3800 block of the Overseas Highway at approximately 1:34 p.m. for a traffic violation. The driver, Carbonell, had a warrant for her arrest.

A third person in the vehicle was not arrested.
