Two arrested for retail theft

Two Miami-Dade County people were arrested Thursday following a Sheriff’s Office investigation into the theft of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise in the Upper Keys.

Lexus Franshawn Adams, 31, of Homestead, Florida, was charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of fentanyl, larceny, fraud, and giving a fake ID to law enforcement. Adams has two previous convictions for grand theft.

Jalen Da’quan Campbell, 19, of Florida City, Florida was charged with multiple counts of larceny.

Both were arrested after attempting to steal approximately $300 worth of items from the CVS Pharmacy in Tavernier. They also confessed to stealing baby formula, alcohol, perfume, clothing, and other items worth approximately $2,500 in multiple other cases under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office at other Upper Keys businesses. They are also under investigation for similar crimes elsewhere in South Florida.
