Three Veterans Affairs and Strategic Planning Town Hall Meetings Scheduled for June

KEY LARGO, MARATHON, AND KEY WEST, FL – Monroe County Veterans Affairs will co-host a series of town hall meetings for Monroe County Veteran clients and military service members in coordination with the upcoming strategic planning town hall meetings open to the public. The town halls will take place in two parts and should last about an hour.

  • June 3 – Middle Keys Veteran’s and Public Strategic Planning Town Hall – 11 a.m. at Marathon Branch library
  • June 14 – Upper Keys Veteran’s and Public Strategic Planning Town Hall – 11 a.m. at Murray Nelson Government Center, Key Largo
  • June 17 – Lower Keys Veteran’s and Public Strategic Planning Town Hall – 11 a.m. at Harvey Government Center, Key West

In the first part, held by Strategic Planning, attendees can take a live survey, comment on current County strategic priorities, and offer new ideas, which the Board of County Commissioners will use to set FY23 strategic priorities for the County. This section will focus on the County as a whole.

During the second part, Veterans Affairs will provide an update on VA services, statistics, regulatory changes, and public comments.  Monroe County Veteran Affairs would like to engage in an open discussion on VA healthcare in Monroe County. Veterans Affairs will take feedback to the Miami VA Medical Center (VAMC) for discussion at upcoming Miami VAMC town halls. This section will focus specifically on Veterans.

“We want to reach the Veterans, dependents, surviving spouses, and the public to ensure we capture their priorities, whether at the County, State, or Federal level,” said Cathy Crane, Director of Monroe County Veterans Affairs.
