The Studios of Key West Kicks Off Their New Exhibition Season on October 6
First Exhibition of the Season Raises Awareness of Issues Around Sea Level Rise

In partnership with First Horizon Bank and FIRM (Fair Insurance Rates in Monroe), The Studios of Key West is pleased to present Sea Level Stories by artist Jane Baldridge, an exhibition which raises awareness of critical issues around sea level rise. The public is invited to view the exhibition during the First Thursday event on October 6 from 6-8pm.

As well as an artist, Baldridge is a licensed boat captain. Throughout her work and during her time living on a boat, she closely studied the movements and patterns of water, particularly interested in how powerfully water sculpts shorelines. Her fascination with the ocean and its many moods is evident in her artwork.
“I am passionate about the planet,” Baldridge says, “especially the ocean, rivers and bays. I have a profound respect for the power of water and wind.”

Baldridge has shown in Lincoln Center, Times Square, the Louvre, Museum of Computer Art, Mint Museum, Cameron Museum of Art, Fayetteville Museum of Art, World Festival of Art on Paper (Slovenia) and has a piece of art in the Library of Congress.

The public is invited to view Sea Level Stories and meet the artist during First Thursday on October 6 from 6-8pm. The exhibition will remain on view through October 27. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am-4pm. The Studios is located at 533 Eaton Street and more information can be found at www.tskw.org.
