The Key West Police Department is looking for telecommunicators

The Key West Police Department is looking for a highly responsible individual to join our team of telecommunicators. These unsung heroes of the community receive and respond to incoming telephone and radio communications, determine the nature of these calls and deploy the appropriate emergency response. They must be calm in the face of all callers as well as friendly, encouraging and efficient. Not only must the right candidate have the ability to keep and maintain records, he or she must be able to constantly monitor the activities of other city departments and surrounding agencies.

Telecommunicators are usually the first contact that the community has with emergency services. That means we’re looking for someone with strong communications skills and a calm, friendly ability to deal with stressful situations. This position – Telecommunicator I – is a full time position that pays $20.08 an hour.

For more information, please contact Recruiting Officer Danyle Gray at [email protected]. A complete job description is posted on the City’s web site at www.cityofkeywest-fl.gov under job opportunities.
