The College of the Florida Keys announces closures as Hurricane Dorian approaches

KEY WEST, FL, August 30, 2019— In preparation for possible impact from Hurricane Dorian, The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) will close Saturday, August 31 at 5 p.m. through Tuesday, September 3.  During this time, all classes are cancelled and offices at the Key West Campus and Middle Keys and Upper Keys Centers will be closed to the public.  Only Lagoon Landing residents and authorized College personnel, with proper ID, will be permitted on the Key West Campus.  Currently, the College plans to re-open on Wednesday, September 4.

College officials will continue to closely monitor Hurricane Dorian.  Announcements regarding the impact of the storm on the College, including closures and re-openings, will be sent to students and employees through the College’s Emergency Notification System (email and phone messages) and will be posted publicly on the College’s website as well as its Facebook and Instagram pages.

CFK encourages the College community to make preparations, and to monitor email, voicemail, and local news and weather.
