Following Monday’s deluge of rains, the City of Key West has received initial results of water quality sampling of the island’s interior canals. As is usually the case after a storm event, the results showed an elevated level of pollutants.
Because of this, the City continues to urge visitors and residents to refrain from swimming in the nearshore waters and canals for a few days.
Water quality sampling is being conducted today at several beaches, and the City will report results as soon as they come in.
