Sheriff announces command staff promotions

On Thursday, Sheriff Rick Ramsay announced two promotions to his key command staff personnel.

  • Bureau of Law Enforcement Maj. Chad Scibilia was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, where he will be responsible for the day-to-day actions of personnel and for the enforcement of general orders and policy within the Sheriff’s Office.
  • Middle Keys Capt. Don Hiller was promoted to the rank of Major, where he will take Lt. Col. Scibilia’s outgoing role as commander in the Bureau of Law Enforcement. Maj. Hiller will oversee district commanders and continue Sheriff Rick Ramsay’s mission to ensure public safety and quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
