Sexual Predator notification

As required by Florida law, the Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public of a sexual predator living in Monroe County, Florida.

Joshua Adam Macomber, 41, has registered a temporary local address as 7018 Harbor Village Drive, Marathon, Florida, 33050.

Macomber was convicted in 2001 in Clay County, Florida.

Motorist arrested on drug charges

A 38-year-old Marathon, Florida man was arrested Monday for drug possession following a traffic stop on U.S. 1.

Aaron Matthew Schneider was charged with cocaine possession, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and DUI.

The Sheriff’s Office stopped a Toyota near 55th Street in Marathon at approximately 11:20 p.m. for license plate infractions. The driver, Schnieder, appeared intoxicated and did not follow commands.

Approximately 2.2 grams of cocaine and .5 grams of marijuana were subsequently found.
