Search Warrant Results in Two Arrests

Two Key West men are facing drug trafficking and possession charges after a search warrant turned up a variety of drugs.

On August 9, the Key West Police Department Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at 1219 Flagler Avenue. The search warrant was obtained after the police department initiated an investigation with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigations and Drug Enforcement Administration.

During a search of the residence, detectives and special agents found, a total of 44.2 grams of powder cocaine, 0.5 grams of marijuana, five different types of pills and also nearly 28 grams of an unknown white powdery substance which will be sent to a lab for testing. Detectives and special agents also found items of drug paraphernalia including several glass pipes, bags for the packaging of narcotics and a scale.

Kevin Eichin, 59, was charged with trafficking of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Patrick G. Lonergan, 64, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
